This is a song about honor, pride, and duty through the lense of the old Norse.
An old Warrior laments the fact that he has lived so long thru many battles. Because it denies him the right to enter Valhalla with his fallen comrades. He pleads with his Jarl to allow him to fight one more battle in the hopes that he will at last take his place in the halls of the honored dead. To feast and fight with all brave souls till the world's ending.
lyrics
Cold are the winds of my hell
I have tarried too long in this world
Tired and weak
Cursed with life unending
Here I stand before you pleading (needing)
Give me my honorable death
The one that was robbed from me!
I await the end
Calling me forth from beyond
(Take your place among the dead)
To live, to fight ever more
Send me forth so I may join my kin in the hall of the gods!
My fallen brothers await
To the all-father I send my prayer
Set my spirit free
Free from dishonour
Let me fight 'till the raven's shadow descends
And the valkyries take me home
I await the end
Calling me forth from beyond
(Take your place among the dead)
To live, to fight ever more
Send me forth so I may join my kin in the hall of the gods!

This album is a wagonload of fun and definitely an improvement to their last one, it is on par with any other good power metal album out there. Now I'd really like to read a book about the story. Didn't expect that Sean Bean would die. to rock or not to rock
